When is it "too early" to book your photographer?
Posted by groomzilla at 8:27 AM Sunday, February 21, 2010This is something that I for one didn't even consider to be #3 on my list! #1 was the church, #2 was the reception hall and #3 was actually the DJ. I am quickly finding out that it's never too early to book your photographer. We have a little more than a year and half before our big day though the top two people we wanted to shoot our wedding are not available for our date!
Each photographer has their own style and it can be easy to fall in love with these individual styles so be sure to check their availability before you get too excited. My cousin told me that they had theirs booked for over 2 years! If you would have told me that before I had encountered what I currently am I would have thought you were nuts. Obviously time of year plays a major roll, however, there are simply lots of people looking to tie the knot and only a few photographers to go around.
There is a fine line between pricing and quality and it isn't good to settle for less than you desire. After all, these are the memories that you will carry with you for the rest of your life. I am finding that using social networks like Facebook and Twitter allow you to get the word out and seek help from your network of people to assist in the search. People know people who know people who know people and can show you more options.
It can be overwhelming at times and disheartening when you get that email response saying "unfortunately I am already booked for your date but good luck with your search and your wedding!". Your photographer is out there waiting for you to find them, you just have to keep on searching!

Wedding Tunes to Inspire a Bride
Posted by Recession Bride at 2:45 PM Monday, February 15, 2010
OK it's time to really get down and serious with this whole blogging thing. I've got my lists of "to look at", my drafts of "neat stuff to view" and book marks of "interesting wedding stuff" yet haven't really dug into anything I've saved.
If you're like me and you enjoy having task tunes playing while you accomplish stuff then you might be interested in the link below : A Bride's Guide to Wedding Music.

I figured that if I start to play wedding songs I will be inspired to dig into the sites I've jotted down and start to collect ideas, gather my thoughts and post useful Bridal stuff :)
As with all other links I've got saved, I wanted to post this one in order to help others who...well may need inspiration to sit down and start their own planning with the appropriate mood music.
(Plus - I will have to decide on some music for the event right?)

Weddings aren't just for Brides anymore!
Posted by groomzilla at 6:34 PM Wednesday, February 10, 2010If you are like me then prior to the day when you popped the question (pardon me ladies out there who were the ones who popped the question) you figured that your future bride would be the one in control of everything regarding planning. Well, I am here to tell you that this is simply untrue! Apparently I am a wedding planner in disguise and until the day I asked the question figured I would be the one who would be approving ideas (which for all intents and purposes have already been decided prior to consulting me).
Truth is, I am not alone when it comes to grabbing the reigns and making some decisions and coming up with some great ideas and plans in general for the Big Day. Men everywhere are finding that wedding planning is something they had a hidden talent for.
As we embark on our journey towards the day that begins the rest of our lives together we hope to help you by sharing some helpful tips and useful information which can save you money and headaches!
